I Don't Mean to Tease, But Here's a Bit of Smell-A-Vision, Mexican Peruvian Dishes

Blog by: Russo Mutuc

I'm finally getting around to editing some of the footage I took for Mex - Peru - Gipsy Restaurant. A few months back, I came across this very interesting restaurant in the heart of DTLA Fashion District. Culture and personality was calling my name from the sidewalk. The attraction of this place was the kitchen and how close it is to the patrons seating. This style of dinning is rare to come across with now, considering the many fancy eateries popping up all over L.A.

I spent about 2 hours working on this teaser, more like sampler of this psuedodocumentary look at Latin foods. I'm not really sure yet on the full direction of the video, but for now, I am using the narration of the subject, Juan Alfaro, and creating the story based on food. No fancy motion graphics influenced my editing, I just simply honed in good old lighting, composition, and soft transitions. As a videographer, I feel it's important to showcase your best shots, without manipulating the quality with post-processing.

See Juan as he narrates the video with the cooking of the Salmon a la Mexicana.
